The Great Tacoma Bridge

We LOVE Sundays:) haha finally a day off work and we all get together for Sunday dinner and we plan something great to do! This Sunday Pete made us a pot roast dinner with asparagus and potatoes! Oh Pete... our mother up here:) He did an amazing job!!

The Tacoma bridge is about 10 minutes from our apartments! In 1940 it collapsed due to very strong winds! It was rebuilt and today we decided to walk across the bridge and then play on the beach that was nearby.. the wind was so cold up there! Chase decided to hit a golf ball off of the bridge.. haha
There are emergency phones about every 20 feet on the bridge! I never understood why but we learned that they are there in case someone is trying to commit suicide then you can call 911!

The boys found another tree to climb on! haha oh and they also found a rope swing that we played on...
This week Mark and I start our diets and working out hard! The only difficult thing about here is that there are no flat grounds to run on! Its all up and down hills haha but we can do it:) I am also knocking myself everyday this week! We are getting me some mase to protect myself! I hope that the people here are nice to me this week:) My cousin Chase arrived Saturday morning and it has already been fun to have him around! I love that I have some family here:) My parents and my sisters come to visit on Thursday! We are going to spend the weekend on an island... Mark and I are stoked!

Welcome 2 Washington

We have arrived in Washington! We are in a big city named Tacoma.. there is a lot of crime here and the neighborhoods are ghetto and rundown. It took us about 14 short hours to get here! We left at 5:30 in the morning and we arrived at 6:00; Tacoma is an hour behind Salt Lake City. The bay is about 3 miles from our apartment and Downtown Tacoma is practically a harbor:) We experienced all 4 seasons while driving to Washington: we had sun, a rainstorm, snowstorm, and a sand and wind storm!

This is the bay that is 3 miles from our place!

There are so many things that I have already learned or realized in the 2 weeks we have been here! I LOVE UTAH! haha I love that the Conference Building is 15 minutes away from my house, I love that the temple is my backyard, I love that you see an LDS church in every neighborhood and I love that you know your neighbors! We went from being the majority to being the minority. There are lots of Baptist, Lutheran and Christian churches here... which is great! But living in Utah we are blessed to have so many people around you that believe the same as you!

May 16 was my birthday! Mark and I do Birthday weeks! haha I started this tradition:) I have woken up to 3o minute backrubs every morning! Mark is such a trooper:) On Saturday we went to dinner with some friends at Moctezumas! After we went bowling and then ran to the grocery store to get some food for Sunday nights dinner! So, on Sunday May 16 I woke up and I opened my birthday package from my family! They were so cute to put a bunch of things in a package for me! It made my day! I went in to the kitchen and glanced at the fridge! Mark had made magnets that said Happy Birthday 21 I love you!

I was so excited... I love him  so much! I couldn't wait for any surprises so i searched every cupboard, but did not find anything :s Mark made me a yummy breakfast and walked in to the room with dark chocolate coverd almonds! My favorite! After breakfast i walked in to the kitchen to give Mark my plate and there on the dining table were the most beautiful flowers ever!!!

That night we went to the bay to bbq and play on the beach:) it was such pretty weather and we had so much fun! I loved everything about my birthday! Thank you to all my friends and family for making it such a great day!

Playing ultimate frisbee!! Such nice weather!

I Love you sweetie:)

We have been in Tacoma for 2 weeks now! The first few days were rough for me! I missed my friends and family and I seriously missed Utah! I am so blessed to have Mark as my husband:) Saturday night I asked Mark to give me a blessing so that I could get over this feeling of negativity and homesickness! Sunday and Monday have been so much better and I have a different outlook on this experience! I know the Lord will bless us through our faith and hardwork! Thanks for all your prayers!
