"Finally!" This is what everyone had to say about us getting engaged!
Mark had planned this event to a T! He had told me a few days before that they had messed up on the ring and that it would be a few weeks before it was ready.. Mark picked me up and we started our "Journey". Mark had named this date and this was the first word that he gave me. We drove to the Jordan River Temple and sat on the bench outside. We had walked here a few times before and he told me that this was the first time he new he wanted to marry me. We started driving again down towards Provo. We pulled into a house he used to live in. He then put on our song 'Everything' by Michael Buble. I used to sing this song to him while we were driving. He said that one morning this song came on the radio and he knew he had to figure out how to talk to me again. We then drove to UVU... this is where we had our first date when he arrived home from his mission! We walked the steps of our first date! It was so fun re-living such a good memory:) We then had dinner at my favorite place- Tepanyaki! Again, we started driving. We pulled in to his church parking lot.. he walked me and positioned me in front of the podium and he started walking towards me. He said this is the first time I saw you after my mission and I knew I had to date you. We jumped back in the car and headed up to Park City I said something in the car- "If you happened to propose to me tonight it would be perfect!" He said that he wished he could but the ring was not done yet. We walked down Main Street and looked inside the Pizza Parlor we ate in on our very first date, and stood on the hill that we sledded down. On the way down the hill he started taking off his gloves! Which made me think he might propose! We got to the bottom of the hill and he asked me to dance! A few moments later I said I was cold and that we should go. Mark said, "Hold on." He started bending down on one knee!! I was filled with excitement and said, "Oh my gosh, are you serious!?" He replied saying he just needed to tie his shoe! I was furious, and a little sad. The whole ride home I wanted to cry.. we arrived back at my house to finish the date with the usual watching of 24. (We are hooked!) I headed straight towards my parents room to complain about him! He grabbed my arm and we stood in front of the stairs by the banister.. he said he had to give me the rest of the dates name! He held my hands and said, "I named this date "Journey For Eternity" because every place I took you to was the start of something between us for eternity." He explained that the spot we were standing was the first time he ever met me and this is where he wanted to propose. He then started bending down on one knee again! I couldn't beleive he was proposing! I had no idea and was in total shock! Well of course I said yes and jumped on him! We will be sealed for time and all eternity March4, 2010 in the Draper Temple.
